Are you a new patient?
Here's all you need to know...
Welcome to The Nerve Injury Clinic, where your recovery is our priority.
We accept self-referrals and referrals from doctors or other professionals.
To arrange a physiotherapy appointment at the clinic, please phone on 0161 973 7273 or email at Claire.downs@thenerveinjuryclinic.co.uk
Our appointments last 45-60 minutes and take place at the clinic in Sale. We also offer virtual appointments via Zoom for patients who live too far away to travel to the clinic. Occasionally we see local patients in their own homes although we prefer to see patients at the clinic because we have more space and equipment here.
Your first appointment needs to be paid for before the appointment takes place, by bank transfer. For subsequent appointments, we take card payments for the fees at the time of the appointment.
We accept patients with private health insurance through BUPA, AXA and some smaller companies, but not AVIVA. Please ring or email to check if you can use your insurance. You will need to provide us with your membership and authorisation numbers before the first appointment.
There are designated clinic car parking spaces right outside the clinic for you to use, or the clinic is next to Brooklands Metro Station if you are using public transport.
The clinic is on the ground floor, is wheelchair accessible and has level access disabled toilets.
When you arrive for your appointment, press the intercom buzzer by the front door and we will let you in. The clinic is immediately on your left side as you enter the building. Please take a seat in our waiting room and we will come out to welcome you. If you need help to get into the clinic, just let us know beforehand.
Please bring any medical letters you have with you to your first appointment and shorts/vest top to allow us to assess you easily.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Nerve Injury Clinic and helping you improve your neurological problem.

Melinda Sallaway-Royle I was recommended to see Claire Downs in July 2022 by the Neurogist Prof. Mark Roberts after I had been suffering with Peripheral Neuropathy for a while. Due to the nature of nerve pain, treament is a slow progress but with time I have felt a dramatic improvement in my nerve pain around my left ankle. I believe this is down to Claire’s specialised knowledge and expertise of how to deal with nerve pain, as my ankle was found to be very sensitive to small changes of movement. I can highly recommend The Nerve Injury Clinic to anybody suffering with nerve pain. Paul Thank goodness I found the Nerve Injury Clinic. I have a long term Cervical Spine issue and post surgery things were still going downhill. It is so much more than a Physiotherapy practice. Claire has been able to manage my situation which has allowed me to continue to do some things. She is knowledgeable, professional and personable. It's worth a chat, if you feel they may help. Dan Smith This place has been a god send for me. I didn't believe I would recover to the extent I have without them. Claire the owner has been great at understanding my issues and helping with the stimulator to get my nerve feelings back. Kelly and Katie are very different in their rehab approach but both are very affective helping me regain strength balance and movement. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Rob Lyons I had nerve pain in my hand for months and saw Katy, it felt better after 2 sessions following her advice Steve Jones Had shoulder problem for 6 months and now better.Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 5 reviews
