The Nerve Injury Clinic
Case Managers
The Nerve Injury Clinic treats many individuals on behalf of rehabilitation case managers. In particular we specialise in motor bike and road traffic accidents and industrial accidents causing complex conditions such as nerve injuries, brain injury, fractures, amputations and soft tissue damage.
Our experience in this area allows us to meet the needs of case managers by providing:
- A written quotation for the assessment (and ongoing treatment if required) to allow funds to be secured
- Clinic based initial assessment- this can include Surface electromyography for nerve injuries if required.
- The option for case managers to attend the assessment
- A full written report following the assessment. This report will detail the outcome of the assessment, goals for treatment, timescales and recommended treatment with costings
- Treatment sessions will be provided in clinic, however home or work place assessments can also be accommodated.
- Treatment alongside NHS physiotherapy services if required
- Home treatment and management programs.
- Close contact and communication with the rest of the rehabilitation team and case manager throughout treatment. Regular liaison with personal trainers, other physiotherapists involved and occupational therapists in particular to ensure joint goal setting.
- Orthotics assessment at the clinic with the physiotherapist present.
- Advice re equipment, return to work and referral to other professionals, eg wheelchair services, peripheral nerve or orthopaedic or neurology consultants.
- Interim reports detailing progress made and new goals or aims of treatment.
- Discharge reports at the end of treatment
- Maintenance physiotherapy.

Melinda Sallaway-RoyleI was recommended to see Claire Downs in July 2022 by the Neurogist Prof. Mark Roberts after I had been suffering with Peripheral Neuropathy for a while. Due to the nature of nerve pain, treament is a slow progress but with time I have felt a dramatic improvement in my nerve pain around my left ankle. I believe this is down to Claire’s specialised knowledge and expertise of how to deal with nerve pain, as my ankle was found to be very sensitive to small changes of movement. I can highly recommend The Nerve Injury Clinic to anybody suffering with nerve pain.PaulThank goodness I found the Nerve Injury Clinic. I have a long term Cervical Spine issue and post surgery things were still going downhill. It is so much more than a Physiotherapy practice. Claire has been able to manage my situation which has allowed me to continue to do some things. She is knowledgeable, professional and personable. It's worth a chat, if you feel they may help.Dan SmithThis place has been a god send for me. I didn't believe I would recover to the extent I have without them. Claire the owner has been great at understanding my issues and helping with the stimulator to get my nerve feelings back. Kelly and Katie are very different in their rehab approach but both are very affective helping me regain strength balance and movement. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.Rob LyonsI had nerve pain in my hand for months and saw Katy, it felt better after 2 sessions following her adviceSteve JonesHad shoulder problem for 6 months and now better.Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 5 reviews
