I cannot recommend Jess highly enough. I was referred to the Nerve Injury Clinic following a diagnosis of HNPP, a rare genetic nerve condition that many healthcare professionals have little experience with. Over the previous six years, I had seen numerous NHS clinicians and came away feeling both poorly informed about my condition and increasingly pessimistic about my future. Before meeting Jess, I had effectively written myself off. I believed my condition would inevitably deteriorate to the point where I would be unable to live the life I wanted, and that my future would involve increasing pain and disability. It was an incredibly difficult mindset to live with. What immediately stood out about Jess was her knowledge and experience. She understood HNPP, had treated people with the condition before, and was able to explain things in a way that finally made sense. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, she took a genuinely holistic approach, covering everything from exercise and rehabilitation to day-to-day lifestyle management. For the first time in six years, I feel that I truly understand my condition, what my body is doing, and how I should respond to it. Jess helped me realise that, with the right management strategies, my outlook is far more positive than I had believed. She gave me practical tools, knowledge and confidence that have completely changed the way I view my future. I left the clinic feeling informed, empowered and optimistic – something I honestly never thought possible when I first arrived. Jess is a tremendous asset to the Nerve Injury Clinic, and I am incredibly grateful for the support and guidance she has given me.

Long story as short as is possible. On 11th July, I attended hospital in Scotland for a hernia repair at a day surgery. Being first in line, I wakened in the recovery room around 12 noon, still slightly dazed I was told that all being well I would be heading home around 3pm. My left thigh was completely numb and although I could move my foot and toes, I was unable to stand. The surgeon assured me that I would be OK by 5pm. By 6pm I was in a ward after he came back to tell me it would wear off by the following morning, only to be told then that "this could be 2 or 3 days" Day 3 he told me thet "we could be looking at a week". By this point I was suffering from hypersensitivity amongst other painful symptoms. Day 7 and his prognosis changed to "this could possibly be 2 to 3 weeks, but don't worry. 13 days in hospital and I made arrangements to get home. This continued for a further 4 months until I was seen by a neurologist who referred me for neuro physio, unfortunately this was rejected by that department as they said my problem was not their speciality. I contacted a neuro physio some 80 miles south of where I live only to be told that they had no-one experienced enough, but recommended another one 10 miles from me in Glasgow, only to be told the same story. However, they highly recommended The Nerve Injury Clinic. Since I was now approaching 6 months post op, denied treatment, wrongly diagnosed twice, critical time scales missed, and only 3 uneventful physio appointments. I made two one hour appointments with Claire over 2 days. 6 months of worsening depression lifted in 2 hours. Day 1, a thorough examination, and a multitude of questions, no stone unturned. Day 2. Physiotherapy and an exercise regime unlike anything I was given at home. I had planned to make a further appointment when out of the blue I was offered a cancellation appointment with plastic surgery to decompress the femoral nerve, and that the neuropraxia that I was wrongly diagnosed with, was indeed a severe axonal injury caused during surgery. All of which was along the lines that Claire had suspected. The bottom line is, this lady knows her stuff, and I would rarely recommend anyone, but would do so in this case. Well done, and thanks for everything.

Kellie has been a lifeline for me during a really traumatic period at the start of my first pregnancy. I had suffered with unexplained nerve pain in my foot for well over 12 months, which had a really debilitating effect on my life. I was trapped by fear of triggering the pain and could barely leave the house when I first came to the Nerve Injury Clinic. When I found out I was pregnant I was terrified that I wouldn’t be able to cope. I saw at least 10 private consultants and didn’t get any answers, but Kellie was one of the only people who treated me holistically and really validated what I’d been going through. At almost 38 weeks pregnant now, I’ve not had a single episode of nerve pain since the start, and I don’t think that would have been possible without Kellie’s help. She has enabled me to have the positive pregnancy I have always dreamed of. Kellie is also like a big sister / friend - so caring, supportive and personable which makes me really look forward to our sessions. Thank you so much Kellie for all of your help!

Katy has been incredible, helping me recover from sensitisation pain that had gone on for months and was seriously affecting my life. She took a very holistic approach, treating the whole system rather than just a body part. She had so many different techniques and prqctices to draw from and was endlessly supportive and encouraging. I recommend her to everyone I know now!

I’ve been seeing Katy for physio to help with nerve tension, she quickly identified the problem and gave me clear, practical exercises & stretches that really helped reduce symptoms. What I appreciate most is she doesn’t just focus on the symptoms, but she’s also encouraged me to improve my overall fitness, and manage stress with breathing & relaxation techniques. Katy is super knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely cares about her patients’ wellbeing and I can’t recommend her enough! 😊

Claire completely changed my life. Claire is kind, knowledgeable about nerve injury along with the pain and movement problems it can create and most of all compassionate and truly cares about your recovery. Due to Claire I was able to get my nerve pain under control and improved my mobility and capability. When I first saw Claire I never thought I’d be able to live a ‘normal’ life but because of her I am more capable in my day to day life, I’ve had two children and I have more understanding of my body’s limitations and how to live with it. I will never be fully fixed because of my nerve damage, but Claire has got me as close as I will ever get and I will be eternally grateful. If you are someone contemplating whether Claire or her team can help you, I’d bet the life she gave me back she can.

Claire and The Nerve Injury Clinic have been absolutely fantastic, helping me with knee pain and back pain arising from sports injuries / lifestyle over the past several months. Claire has been extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and supportive throughout my treatment, and has now given me all the tools I need to look after my own body. Andy was also brilliant - professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable - he assessed and fit me for custom orthotics to help alleviate some of the problems with my gait . I can’t rate the NIC high enough!

I was treated by Jess over about 3 months for problematic ankles. She was brilliant, loads of different ideas and things to take away as well as the detail in the appointments covering a wide gamut not just the ankle itself. Also the clinic has other options as well - so Andy sorted semi-custom insoles and I had a few (new to me) yoga instructionals 1-1 with Claire. All in all great, thanks all

The nerve injury clinic have been brilliant, helping me with a very aggregated chronic RSI issue that a series of regular/ sports physios were unable to understand or help me with. The level of support and expertise has been brilliant and I can’t recommend the nerve injury clinic highly enough.

After a solution of medication and a 'you may just have to live with it' outcome from the NHS I found Claire whose treatment and ability to actually listen to a patient has given me the tools to gain control of my condition. I can highly recommend the services of The Nerve Injury Clinic for a professional, caring and holistic approach.
